Types of Massages

Swedish Massage is the most common and best-known type of bodywork performed today. Our goal is to relax the entire body by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. Swedish massage is exceptional for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.

Sports Massage Designed to maximize muscle work, to loosen joints and release lactic acids after exercise.  Sports massage improves performance, through stimulating muscles in a restorative way.  It covers the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of the soft tissues of the body ex: muscles, ligaments and tendons.  This is done through deep tissue work, muscle energy exercises and stretching.
Sports massages will be tailored to each individual's needs to positively enhance ones ability to perform.

Deep Tissue Massage Extra-strength tension tackler treatment for those preferring deep-tissue massage work.  When there is chronic muscle tension or injury, there are usually adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue).  Adhesions can block circulation and cause pain, limited movement, and inflammation.  Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement.

Pre and Post Natal Massage during pregnancy is therapeutic bodywork which focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes of the childbirth experience. Massage enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and general body tone, and relieves mental and physical fatigue.

Medical Massage Sports Healing Massage is a partner with Medical Massage of the Rockies(MMR). We receive referrals from MMR to help assist individuals with massage resolutions to physician-diagnosed conditions. Many insurance plans now cover massage therapy in situations such as workers’ compensation and auto accidents.
